Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe handed FA charge for ref comments

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe and his assistant Jason Tindall have both been charged with misconduct by the Football Association.

The charge relates to the Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday at Dean Court last Saturday, which ended in a 2-2 draw and saw the Cherries relinquish top spot in the table.

Referee Paul Tierney reported the pair after they had both been critical of the official's display, while the FA also studied Howe's postmatch comments.

Howe felt Tierney should have awarded Bournemouth a second-half penalty following a foul on striker Callum Wilson.

It is alleged Howe's postmatch comments constitute improper conduct.

Tindall is accused of using abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards a match official.

Both men have until 6 p.m. BST on Monday to respond to the charge.
