AC Milan leaving Carlos Bacca out of lineup amid 'future transfer' plans

AC Milan will hold Carlos Bacca out of next week's Europa League qualifier because of "future transfer market moves", coach Vincenzo Montella said on Saturday.

The Colombia striker has been linked to the likes of Arsenal and Everton this summer, with reports adding Lazio's interest in the past week.

Bacca did not play in the 4-0 International Champions Cup win over Bayern Munich, and afterward Montella said he also won't face CSU Craiova next Thursday.

"I didn't play him because he won't play on Thursday," Montella said. "We did it in harmony, but it's clear that the choice is also due to future transfer market moves."

Bacca has played the past two seasons with Milan after moving from Sevilla and has scored 31 goals in Serie A.
