AC Milan forward M'Baye Niang frustrated by jeering San Siro fans

AC Milan midfielder M'Baye Niang has criticised fans who whistled him and his teammates during the 2-1 win over Crotone on Sunday.

Niang left the field to boos and whistles when he was substituted after missing a penalty which he had taken ahead of teammate Gianluca Lapadula as Milan were made to work hard for victory at the San Siro.

Lapadula went on to score Milan's winner four minutes from time, when the whistling stopped.

"True fans don't come to the stadium to whistle but to support their team," Niang wrote on Instagram.

⚫️ @acmilan

"Teams do struggle from time to time, and it is at times like these that you need to feel the fans' help.

"I accept the whistles, but they don't help me or the team. Now let's aim to get a positive result at the Olimpico against Roma."

Milan travel to the capital next weekend level on points with second-placed Roma and four points behind league leaders Juventus.
