Kevin-Prince Boateng to join AC Milan in January, says Adriano Galliani

AC Milan plan to sign Kevin-Prince Boateng in January despite the midfielder not seeing action since May, club chief executive Adriano Galliani said.

Boateng, 28, played for Milan from 2010-2013 before moving to Schalke, though he was released by the German club in May and did not find a team in the summer transfer window.

But Galliani said Milan will bring him back to the San Siro in the new year on a free transfer.

"On Jan. 4 we will register Boateng's contract with the Lega Serie A and he will be available for selection," Galliani told Sky Sports Italia after Milan's 4-2 win at Frosinone on Sunday.

Galliani also said that winger Suso is set move to Genoa on loan once personal terms can be agreed.

Milan are also unlikely to move for any other splash signings in the winter transfer window, as Galliani said there is already enough "big names" at the club.

"Perhaps some of those who haven't had as much playing time will move on, as there is a big squad," Galliani said. "I just want to remind everyone that we were barely able to use Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez due to injury.

"The fans can relax, we have many star names in attack and midfield, plus Gigio Donnarumma in goal. I continue to believe this team is worth more than sixth place.

"There are some regrets that we're not higher up. I think the Coppa Italia win at Sampdoria midweek was a turning point. If we hadn't gone through there, it would've been difficult to win today."
