Carlo Ancelotti to hold another round of AC Milan managerial talks

AC Milan's general manager Adriano Galliani is to open the fourth round of talks with former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti in a bid to convince him to return to the Serie A club next season.

Galliani flew out to Madrid earlier this week to meet with Ancelotti, who, since leaving Real, has made it clear he wants to take a year out to cure a back problem.

Galliani is determined to get his man, though, and, after already meeting with the Italian on three occasions, he is planning one final attempt to convince the 55-year-old at lunchtime on Thursday before flying back to Milan in the evening.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi is to offer €120 million to spend on transfers for the former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain coach, who won the Champions League twice in his previous spell on the Rossoneri bench.

Ancelotti's wife does not think that will be enough, though, saying that her husband has made up his mind and will not be talked round.

"Carlo needs a year to recharge his batteries before choosing his next club," said Mariann Barrena to Vanity Fair. "We're going to make the most of next year to visit many places in Spain that we've never had the chance to see before.

"If Real had wanted [him], he would have been happy to carry on there. But now Carlo has decided to take a year out. We are very grateful to the fans for their affection and faith. The people of Madrid are incredible and they have always shown the utmost affection for Carlo."

Galliani will nevertheless give it one last try to bring Ancelotti back to the club which is still owned by Silvio Berlusconi who, according to his daughter Barbara, is committed to getting Milan back to the top despite recently trying to sell.

"My father has been clear about his desire to make Milan great again," she said at the club's Casa Milan headquarters, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. "He chose not to take the opportunity [of selling to Bee Taechaubol] and this shows that his enthusiasm has returned.

"The contact he has had with potential investors has brought his desire back and when you make a decision like that, you have got to be sure of what you are doing. I think my father has made an important decision, looking after the fans and not taking an opportunity."
