AC Milan defender Adil Rami issues Inzaghi ultimatum

AC Milan defender Adil Rami says that if Filippo Inzaghi is not sacked this summer, he will have to leave the Rossoneri.

The French defender still has two years left to run on his contract with the Serie A club, but he is unhappy with the amount of playing time he has had under Inzaghi this season. The 29-year-old has made 21 Serie A appearances this season, and only two out of their last 13.

"I still have two years on my contract so let's see what happens," he told L'Equipe du Soir. "I'd like to be playing more, and -- why not -- also play in the Champions League.

"Milan are my priority and I want to stay here, but it depends on the coach. If [Inzaghi] stays, then I think I will have to leave to have more of a chance to play. Otherwise I'll stay."

Rami arrived in Milan initially on loan from Valencia in January 2014 and was first-choice in his first six months under manager Clarence Seedorf. The Serie A club made his move permanent last summer, issuing Rami a contract until 2017, although he has lost his regular berth this season under Inzaghi.

Milan have also failed to qualify for Europe next season for a second year running, while Rami's former club will be returning to the Champions League in August.
