Filippo Inzaghi to remain in charge of AC Milan for now - club channel

Filippo Inzaghi led AC Milan's training session on Thursday morning, with his position as coach reported by the club's official television channel to be safe for the time being.

Pressure had been mounting on the 41-year-old after a 3-1 Serie A defeat at home to Genoa on Sunday night, with the club's general manager Adriano Galliani taking the night to reflect on Inzaghi's future.

In the meantime, youth team coach Cristian Brocchi had been placed on standby to replace Inzaghi until the end of the season, but the club's TV channel -- Milan Channel -- reported on Thursday afternoon that Inzaghi had been confirmed to remain in his position.

"Unless something out of the ordinary happens, he will remain as coach of AC Milan," was the statement being conveyed by Milan Channel on Thursday.

Inzaghi is, therefore, set to remain in charge of the club at least until Sunday night's trip to Napoli, although a change could be made depending on the outcome of negotiations between president Silvio Berlusconi and Thai investor Bee Taechaubol.

A news conference is due to be held on Thursday evening after Taechaubol's second and potentially conclusive meeting with Berlusconi.

Taechaubol has presented an offer for Berlusconi's 60 percent share in the the club and hopes to conclude a deal before returning to Thailand on Friday.
