Filippo Inzaghi 'reassured' over AC Milan role by Silvio Berlusconi

Filippo Inzaghi has vowed to turn AC Milan's season around, insisting he still enjoys the backing of club president Silvio Berlusconi.

A run of just two wins in their last 12 games has seen the Rossoneri slip to eighth in the Serie A standings, seven points behind the top three.

However, they won four of their first seven games this season and Inzaghi says if things were working then, they cannot be broken now.

"A month ago, everybody was saying how strong we were -- well everything can't have changed," Inzaghi said after receiving a mock award from Mediaset television to commemorate his side's poor current form.

"We'll get out of this with hard work. It's not a problem. I'm happy with my squad. We'll recover -- for the fans of Milan and for the president."

Milan strengthened their side this winter with the signing of Alessio Cerci, although the 27-year-old forward -- on loan from Atletico Madrid -- has yet to make an impact in his first few games, which Milan have drawn with Cerci's former club Torino and lost at home to Atalanta.

They now face Lazio both in the league and the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia in the space of four days, and it has been suggested Inzaghi's future will be determined by the results of those two games.

However, the 41-year-old says there is no ultimatum and that he feels the full support of Berlusconi.

"The president was the first to reassure me," he added. "We will get out of this."

Inzaghi was appointed as first-team coach last summer, replacing Clarence Seedorf who was relieved of his duties after only four months in charge.

The Dutchman succeeded Massimiliano Allegri, who was dismissed a year ago and is now in charge at table-topping Juventus.
